Going to magic kingdom in December for my daughters FIRST time! I was wondering if I just pay for the stroller rental at the park or if I’d need to do it in advance! Thanks for any help :)

It’s a small world after all, Emily, and I’m so glad you found your way to planDisney! I’d love to help you prepare for your epic adventure to the Most Magical Place on Earth this December!

First off, I am SO excited for you to experience your daughter’s first time at Magic Kingdom Park! I will never forget my children’s first visits when they were babies. There’s something so special about watching their eyes light up when they first catch a glimpse of Mickey Mouse, or when they feel the thrill of flying through the air with Dumbo. To help commemorate your daughter’s first visit, be sure to ask a Cast Member for a complimentary “1st Visit!” button! This button, which features Mickey Mouse and his best pals, is the perfect souvenir to remember this special trip by.

Now, let’s talk strollers! As the mom of three Mouseketeers ages 8 and under, I understand just how important a stroller is when it comes to enjoying the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks with little ones. Not only do they help hold all of your essential items, but they’re also the perfect spot to rest weary feet or even take a nap. So, you have two main options to choose from. You can either rent a stroller from Magic Kingdom Park upon arrival at Stroller Rentals, or you can rent one ahead of time from ScooterBug, the Disney Featured Provider, or another third-party company. My family recently rented a stroller from ScooterBug for our Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and I was so impressed with their service! The stroller was comfortable and clean, and the process was super simple. In fact, the stroller was delivered directly to our Walt Disney World Resort hotel! To pre-order a stroller through ScooterBug, you can call (800) 726-8284.

Walt Disney World Resort stroller rentals are available on a daily basis on a first-come, first-served basis, so I recommend heading to Stroller Rentals as soon as you arrive at Magic Kingdom Park if you choose this option. If you'll be visiting any other theme parks during your stay, you can also purchase a Length of Stay rental ticket at a discount for multiple days. Each day, you would return your stroller to the theme park on your way out, and then simply show your receipt at the rental location of the next theme park to receive your stroller the next day. Stroller rentals are also available at Disney Springs.

Sometimes it can be hard to find your stroller amidst the sea of strollers in the Stroller Parking areas. So, here's a handy trick -- tie a balloon or ribbon to the top of the stroller to help your family identify it throughout your Disney days.

Last but not least, I recommend getting familiar with the Baby Care Centers, located inside each of the four theme parks. I've been using them for the past eight years, and am so thankful for the help they have provided! Stop by the Baby Care Centers to nurse or change baby, pump, or purchase any baby necessities.

I hope this information helps, Emily! Please stop back with any additional questions… we’re all EARs!
