Welcome to planDisney, Gina! I’m so glad you stopped by and would be more than happy to help.
First, let me start by offering you the biggest CONGRATULATIONS! Having a future Mouseketeer on the way is certainly something to celebrate, and there is nowhere better to do so than at The Most Magical Place on Earth. Still, in the midst of all that celebrating, it’s of the utmost importance that we keep you and your little one safe, healthy, and happy. With this in mind, I strongly encourage you to reach out to your doctor for guidance on any restrictions you have as an expectant mother and with the issues you’ve been having with your back. This knowledge will help you know which attractions you can safely enjoy without irritating your back further and while still keeping your baby safe.
Disability Access Service (DAS) is a complimentary service for Guests that struggle with the lengthy wait times found in traditional standby lines due to a disability. I cannot say one way or another whether you will qualify for this service based on your circumstances, but it doesn’t hurt to try. You have
two ways in which you can register for DAS. Your first option is to pre-register for DAS Advance virtually with the assistance of a Cast Member via video chat prior to your arrival. The video chat must take place between 2 and 30 days prior to your park visits, so you are within that time window for your upcoming trip. If you would rather speak to a Cast Member in person when you arrive about your situation, you can register for DAS at any
Guest Relations location at the theme parks. They will ask you a series of questions to determine whether or not you meet the qualifications.
If you end up not qualifying for DAS,
Wheelchair Rentals are available at each of the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs by the day or for the length of your stay, and
Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) are available for rental by the day as well. Since rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis, I encourage you to get to the theme parks extra early if you plan to go this route. If you have more specific questions and would like to speak to a Cast Member from
Disability Services, you can reach them by calling (407) 560-2547.
I hope this information helps you breathe a great, big, beautiful sigh of relief, Gina. If you have any other questions for your “babymoon,” please stop by again. I know my friend and fellow Panelist,
Ashley F., would have some great ideas to share with you from her own babymoon last year.
See ya real soon,
Alyssa
