Hi Kate! Your questions are the sign of a great Walt Disney World Resort vacation planner!
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party spans three months (yes, you read that correctly)! The party takes place on select nights in August, September, and October. On dates when the party does not occur, Guests should expect the attendance and crowd levels at
Magic Kingdom Park to be “normal” for that particular month. However, on dates when the party occurs at night, crowd levels during the daytime hours can sometimes be lower. The clearest explanation for this is that on party dates, Magic Kingdom Park closes to day Guests at 6:00 PM. So, some Guests might choose to go to another park that will be open later rather than going to Magic Kingdom on a night when it closes early.
The Halloween-themed activities associated with the party such as Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade and Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks show are only provided during the party. However, the fall and Halloween decorations around Magic Kingdom Park, particularly along Main Street, U.S.A. are used all season long for day and party Guests to all enjoy! The Mickey-shaped jack-o-lanterns along Main Street, U.S.A. are my favorite!
Of course, you can always add a little haunted excitement to your daytime visit to Magic Kingdom Park by experiencing the
Haunted Mansion! This spectacularly spooky attraction is open for Guests regardless of the season! But be warned, the 999 residents of the mansion are always looking to add one more!
Dreams do come true!
