We will be at magic kingdom for my daughters 6th bday. What should we do???

    Hi Lynn,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  We celebrated our daughter's seventh birthday at Magic Kingdom Park a couple of years ago, and it was a truly magical day.  Simply being in Magic Kingdom for a birthday is special.  Let me give you a couple of ideas to make it even more memorable.

First, be sure to stop at Guest Relations and pick up a happy birthday button.  This is available free of charge, and your daughter can wear it around all day.  It is really fun to hear cast members and other guests alike wishing your little one a happy birthday!  Also you never know when a little extra pixie dust may be sprinkled on her day.  My daughter received a huge birthday cupcake after a meal at The Plaza Restaurant while wearing a birthday button.  She was delighted.  This kind of treat is not guaranteed; however, it is really fun if it does happen.  I also suggest that you note on any dining reservation you have that day that you are celebrating a birthday.  Again, do not expect anything, but a little extra magic may come her way.

If you would like to have a birthday cake for your daughter's birthday, you have a couple of options.  Simple, small chocolate or vanilla cakes are available at many Walt Disney World table service locations simply by requesting the cake when you check in.  If you would like to have a custom cake made, you can call the cake hotline at 407-827-2253 to discuss options for a cake for your daughter.

Finally, I think that a great way to make your daughter's birthday special at a Disney theme park is to let her run the day.  Let her choose the attractions and restaurants for the day.  This makes the day hers!  I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Lynn.  Have a wonderful time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
