The Magic Kingdom will have the castle lighting at 7:30, Celebrate the Magic at 7:45, and Holiday Wishes at 8:00. How early should I stake out a spot on Main Street for a center view of the three shows? (This is not a Christmas party day.)

    Hi Justin,

If you are looking for the perfect view, people begin staking out their positions on the curbs several hours before any of the shows or parades begin at the Magic Kingdom. The only issue is a great view for A Frozen Holiday Wish is not a great view for Celebrate the Magic or Holiday Wishes-Celebrate the Spirit of the Season.
I recommend being a little bit further away from Cinderella Castle for Celebrate the Magic or any of the fireworks shows. I think some of the best spots are where Main Street, U.S.A. meets the central hub. I have had great luck finding a spot for our family with a good view 45 minutes before a show, and I have also staked out the perfect spot an hour and half before a show only to have someone with a height advantage move in front of me at the last second.
The weeks before and after Christmas will be very busy at the parks. I wish I could give you a specific time, but there isn't a good way to predict when people will start choosing those viewing spots. I would figure out how much time you are willing to spend waiting in one spot and start with that time. My family didn't like to wait more than an hour. We were willing to sacrifice a perfect view for an okay view to give us more time exploring the park. I recommend packing lots of patience and holiday spirit!
