we are going to the magic kingdom for my birthday march 1o th why are the extended hours so late

Hi Caroline! March is a big spring break time at Walt Disney World! During many of the weeks in this month you will see families coming from all over the country as many schools have a week break.  Disney will choose evenings that have proven to be a bit heavier crowds to extend Extra Magic hours or simply extend the normal hours so all guests can be accommodated. Lines for attractions will tend to be longest mid day and the savvy tourist will come early, leave for another activity or rest during mid day and then return to stay until the park closes. This will prove a better use of time and shorter lines. Hopefully, you can work this into your plans for your big day. Happy Birthday at bit early!

Please also note that at any time during the week or the actual day Disney can and often has changed park hours to extend them. They will announce this at the parks.
