At Magic Kingdom they allow a Veteran to help retire the flag. My son is a Cub Scout an I wondered if they might allow him to help if there is no Veteran available? He is very patriotic and loves helping with the flag?

Hi Andrea!  Welcome back to the Moms Panel.  The Flag Retreat Ceremony takes place every day at the Magic Kingdom at approximately 5 pm.  I have good news for your Cub Scout - the park guest chosen to assist with the flag retreat does not have to be a veteran, it's just that usually they are the ones who are chosen.  I am told they choose the guest who will assist, based on first requests, so I would suggest arriving at City Hall immediately when the park opens.  While there is no guarantee that your son will be chosen, this would give him his best odds.

Andrea I hope your son has a little bit of pixie-dust with him when he visits Magic Kingdom, and that he will have his dream come true of being able to assist with the Flag Retreat Ceremony!  Good luck!
