    Our magic key passes expire on October 6th. We want to renew but cannot get back to the parks until October 14th. Does the pass activate immediately if you renew, or can our new start date be Oct 14th?

    Hi Diana! We are so happy you found our little corner of the magic here at planDisney. You've got a friend in me as a fellow Magic Key holder, so let's take a look at your question together!

    While I'm sure you have enjoyed your key to the kingdom just as much as I have, I know we are all navigating renewals for the first time! I am so happy to hear that you have already EARmarked your expiration date on your calendar. With new Magic Key sales still on pause, renewals are currently the only way to extend the magic. Renewals can be made up to 30 days before expiration, and your new key will automatically activate the day after your current key expires. For you, it sounds like your new key will unlock the magic starting on October 7th!

    While I know you were hoping to hold off on starting that new key and new year until October 14th, I think I have some pixie-dusted news for you! Not only were additional perks added to the Magic Key program ... but they have already been activated for current key holders! The next time you hit the parks, you can enjoy 20% off the purchase of Genie+ for any key holders in your family! More great news? Discounts on parking are also available and vary depending on your key type! If you are the holder of a Dream, Believe, or Inspire key, you will now also have access to unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads!
