I have a magic key pass and bought a special event ticket. Do I need 2 separate theme park reservations for my magic key and the special event? Do I scan both when I enter the park?

To all who come to planDisney, welcome. We're so glad you're here, Gabrielle. I hope that you've been enjoying your year of magic thus far.

Because he's a gamblin' Boogie Man, I'm betting that you might have secured tickets to an Oogie Boogie Bash night. That's so exciting and I love to hear it! Your special event ticket will grant you access to enter Disney California Adventure Park as early as 3:00 PM on the day of your event. No theme park reservation is required for you to attend the bash. That's already been taken care of.

Now, if you'd like to visit Disneyland on the same day or California Adventure before the party starts, you will need to make a separate theme park reservation with your Magic Key pass to enter the parks. If you're entering either park before the party starts, you will scan your Magic Key pass at the entrance. Once the party starts, you will scan your special event ticket to receive your event wristband, guide map and trick-or-treat bag. If you already happen to be in California Adventure when the 3:00 PM check-in time begins, there's usually a check-in location inside the park, so you won't have to exit and re-enter. Check with a Cast Member for where this is located.

Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort is one of my favorite times of the year and Oogie Boogie Bash is the premier event of the season. Quick tip: bring a larger bag with you to hold all of the candy that you'll collect on the treat trails. Speaking of which, I can't wait to see which villains will be gracing us with their presence this year. Keep an eye on Disney Parks Blog and @disneyland on Instagram for the latest and greatest updates and news as we get closer to the spooky season.

Well, Gabrielle, I hope this helps you feel prepared for your upcoming visit. If there's anything else that we can help with, please come back to see us. Here's wishing you a fa-boo-lous time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
