I have a magic key pass and am going on a black out day - regular ticket and reservation already purchased and booked! Do I still get discounts in the parks for merchandise/food? Could I use the Magic Key pass for Magic Key Terrace reservations in DCA?

    Hiya, Hannah!

Welcome to planDisney! We're so happy that you stopped by, and we're even happier that you sent this fantastic Disneyland Resort planning question our way!

Walt Disney famously said of his beloved theme parks that they'd never stop growing or changing, and that certainly feels true lately. It feels like there have already been so many updates to the Magic Key annual pass program, and it's only been around for a little over a yEAR! I conferred with my fellow Disneyland Panel Pals about our various experiences regarding Magic Key Discounts on blockout days and I'm very happy to share that yes, you'll still receive your dining and merchandise discounts even when visiting Mickey's house and using a standard Theme Park Admission Ticket. That's double-ears chEARs-worthy news right there because sometimes you just need a little bit of shopping in the Downtown Disney District followed by a Dole Whip from Tangaroa Terrace at the Disneyland Hotel. This in theory should also transfer over to the Magic Key Terrace since it uses the same point-of-sales system as the other dining locations across the resort.

Note that any Parking discounts would depend on your tier level's use dates. Also, according to the new update from this past August, the Magic Keyholder discount for purchasing the new Disney Genie+ add-on only applies when you're using your Key and sadly does not transfer over to day tickets. Lastly, we think that any PhotoPass photos you have taken on this day will still connect to your Magic Key account, but we're not 100%. (More like 87%.) Maybe you should test this one out, let us know, and then apply to become a Disneyland Resort Panelist yourself!

I'm so happy that I was able to help clEAR this question up for you, Hannah!
