Rhiannon from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I have a magic key. I made a reservation for myself and my son for DCA but now he says he wants to go to Disneyland instead. We don’t plan on arriving to the parks before 11AM. Do we have to scan into DCA first before going over to Disneyland?

    Welcome back to planDisney, Rhiannon!

Since life is sweet here, you’ve got to be here. Naturally.

Congratulations on being a member of the Magic Key program at The Happiest Place On Earth, Rhiannon! I have been enjoying my Imagine Key for over a year now. My little Mouseketeer and I love exploring the new Mickey’s Toontown and trying out all the delicious food featured on Disney Eats on Instagram. By the way, are you following the Disneyland Magic Key account on Instagram? That’s where I go to keep up with the latest perks and swag that we keyholders have access to!

Ok, so I’ve got great news for you, Rhiannon: You already know that you need to make a reservation for your starting park. However, after 11 am, you are free to scan in to either park as much as you like. Free to run around all day. Free to do it all your way.

I know how you feel, Rhiannon. I'm all about those afternoon resort visits with my little one too.  So, whenever I make a reservation, I am in the habit of choosing Disney’s California Adventure as my “option” because as long as I arrive at the resort after 11 am, I can just scan my Magic Key pass on my Disneyland Mobile App and hop into either park.

Well, Rhiannon, the lute play the flute, the carp play the harp, the plaice play the bass…and I have to get back to answering more questions. So please swim by my direct link again if you think of any more, and I’ll be able to reply faster than Ariel can shout “But Daddy, I love him!”

    Life is de bubbles,
