Welcome to planDisney, Veronica. Thanks for bringing this question to us - we're so glad you're here.
How wonderful to hear that you are considering becoming a
Magic Key holder! You would be unlocking a year of magic and receive additional benefits like
discounts and exclusive offers. I think my favorite perk of all is being able to visit the Disneyland Resort whenever I need a little dose of magic in my life (with a valid theme park reservation).
As a Magic Key holder, you enjoy the wonderful benefit of visiting the Disneyland Resort as many times and (almost) whenever you want as long as you have a valid theme park reservation (subject to availability) and your desired visit date is not blocked out. You can review the
Magic Key Calendar for your specific key pass to determine any blockout dates as well as any days when Magic Key reservations may no longer be available (I peeked at the Magic Key Calendar and noticed that all levels of Magic Keys are blocked out for the date of your planned arrival). No additional theme park ticket is required, unless you'd like to attend an event that requires a
special event ticket (think
Disneyland After Dark events and
Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party, for example) or if you'd like to visit during a day that your key pass is blocked out.
More great news, Veronica. All Magic Key passes come with the wonderful ability to
park hop. When making a theme park reservation, you will need to choose the park where you wish to start your day, however, as soon as the park hopping hour strikes (that's 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time), you're free to hop (or skip or jump - or even walk) on over to the park across the esplanade. It's that easy - breakfast in Disneyland Park and lunch in Disney California Adventure Park (or vice versa).
What's better than spending a day at Disneyland? Spending a day at Disneyland with your friends and family. If you'd like to visit the Happiest Place on Earth with your Magic Key pass and guests, your guests will indeed need to purchase a valid theme park ticket and have a theme park reservation. Theme park tickets will need to be purchased separately.
I love being a Magic Key holder. In fact, I'll be using one of the fabulous benefits in just over a week when a select number of pre-sale tickets for Oogie Boogie Bash go on sale for Magic Key holders on June 27th (a couple of days before tickets go on sale to the general public). I also like to visit the Portal for Magic Key holders in the
Disneyland app. I can always find any exclusive offerings and reference my discounts there.
I hope this helps, Veronica. I also recommend reviewing the
Magic Key Terms and Conditions for all of the details. If you think of other questions, please come back to see us - we love to help.
Wishing you a magical day,
Michelle
