    if magic hours are in the evening, does everyone in the park get that benefit regardless if they are staying at a Disney resort? Are bands scanned during extra hours to get on the attractions?

    Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thank you for sending us your great question about Extra Magic Hours at Walt Disney World Resort theme parks.

    Extra Magic Hours offer Guests the opportunity to enjoy extra time in Walt Disney World Resort theme parks at no extra charge! On certain days of the week, Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guests will be able to enter one of the four theme parks one hour early or remain in the park two hours after regular closing time. This is one of the many benefits available for Guests of Disney Resort hotels. I especially love taking advantage of Extra Magic Hours when park hopping. Extra Magic Hours allows me to spend the day at a less-crowded park and then “hop” over to a different park during evening Extra Magic Hours. Crowds tend to be lighter during Extra Magic Hours, allowing me to enjoy even more of the magic!

    Heather, you are correct! During evening Extra Magic Hours, non-Disney Resort hotel Guests can remain in the theme parks, but they will not be able to access and rides or attractions. Disney Resort hotel Guests will need to verify that they are staying on-site by tapping their MagicBand or Admission Card before entering a ride’s queue.
