We have Magic Bands that we used for a trip in September of 2021. We're going again this September (2 years later). Will my Magic Bands still work? How will I know if the batteries are still good?

Hi Dan and welcome to planDisney!

MagicBands are such a convenient way to add a little extra magic to your Walt Disney World vacation.  There is no need to dig around in your bag or pockets for various cards when you can just tap your wrist to make purchases, enter the theme parks, enter Lightning Lane queues and open your Disney Resort hotel room door!  We bring our MagicBands back for every visit, even if we aren't staying on property.

Disney states the life of a MagicBand is approximately 2 years, but I have a couple of special ones from 2019 that still work.  The only way to know if your MagicBands still have battery life is checking with the front desk of your Disney Resort hotel or any Guest Relations at the theme parks and Disney Springs or try them at the theme park touch points.  If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel during your upcoming vacation, you have the option to pre-purchase new MagicBands at a discount.  Just log in to your My Disney Experience account online and click on "My MagicBands and Cards" to start the customization.  There is quite a wide variety to choose from and the inventory is always changing.

Please stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.

    Have a magical day!
