Ahoy, Anne!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You must be getting ready to set sail with Captain Mickey and his friends aboard a Disney Cruise Line cruise! You will be amazed at all the fun activities on and around the ship each day of your voyage. By using the Personal Navigator newsletter or
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, you'll have the schedule for each day right at your fingertips!
Currently, Disney Cruise Line does not use
MagicBands like you would find at Walt Disney World Resort. Instead, Guests receive a Key to the World Card which will act as the onboard charge card, stateroom key and identification around the ship. My family and I like keeping our Key to the World Cards in our Castaway Club lanyards! First-time cruisers won't receive a lanyard until they embark on their second Disney Cruise, so if this will be your inaugural voyage, I recommend bringing one from home or purchasing one at one of the shops onboard!
Smaller sailors ages 3 - 12 years old participating in either
Disney's Oceaneer Lab or
Disney's Oceaneer Club will receive an Oceaneer Band that looks very similar to the MagicBands found at Walt Disney World Resort. They will use these bands to scan themselves in and out (with a parent or Guardian) of the Youth Clubs.
Anne, thanks so much for stopping by and asking this great question! Please let us know if you have any future questions regarding sailing the high seas, Disney-style!
