Hello, Sharon! Thanks for your question, and welcome!
The short answer is no, Magic Bands are not used onboard Disney Cruise Line. For children ages 3-12 that are registered for
Disney's Oceaneer Club and Lab onboard,
Oceaneer Bands are used to check in and check out of the secured programming that is offered in these youth spaces. These look like Magic Bands but have a special design and function just for sailing with Disney Cruise Line. For a small fee, you can choose to keep the Oceaneer Band as a souvenir, or you may return this band to the youth clubs before midnight on the last evening of your sailing.
A Key to the World Card will be used once onboard to open your stateroom and to charge any purchases to your onboard account. This card also needs to be scanned to pick up children from
Disney's Oceaneer Lab or Club and when disembarking and returning to the ship while at a port of call. Many guests like to wear their Key to the World Card on a lanyard around their neck. If you are a returning guest of Disney Cruise Line, it's likely that you'll find a lanyard in your stateroom on embarkation day. If this is your first sailing, you can bring a lanyard from home, or purchase one onboard if you'd like.
I hope my answer clears up your question! Please sail back any time you have more questions for us. My pals and I are always here and happy to help.
Have a Disney Cruise filled with magic!
