Hi there, Shannon! Welcome to
planDisney, and thank you so much for stopping by with your question. I love that you're planning to reuse your
MagicBands, because that's always such a satisfying little “I've done this before” Disney moment.
The good news is that if your MagicBands are still listed in your
My Disney Experience account, you are absolutely welcome to use them again. MagicBands remain linked to the original person who first activated and used them, so as long as they're showing under your name, they're yours to keep using. The only thing to remember is that they can't be reassigned to someone else once they've been linked.
If your bands are from a 2021 trip, they should still function for most core features of your vacation. You'll be able to tap into the park entrance turnstiles, unlock your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel room door, link
PhotoPass photos by tapping with a photographer, and redeem Lightning Lane selections without any issue. Those features rely on RFID technology, and even older bands typically handle those tasks just fine.
Where things can occasionally get a little unpredictable is with the long-range battery inside the band. That battery powers the automatic linking of certain attraction photos. Since those internal batteries aren't replaceable and tend to last a few years, there's a chance that feature might not work perfectly anymore.
Shannon, it sounds like you're all set for June. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us. We're always available and more than happy to help here at planDisney!
Warm hugs,
Ana Paula
