Ahoy there Michelle, and welcome aboard planDisney!
Ah, taking to the seas after experiencing
Walt Disney World Resort and "
The World's Most Magical Celebration" earlier this year? What a...well...magical experience! I'm sure you're already looking forward to everything that is included in a Disney Cruise Line Vacation and have been "oohing" and "aahing" about the
Disney Wish!
When it comes to MagicBands, that technology stays shoreside with the exception of Disney's Oceaneer Club, which has special MagicBands which are distributed when you first check in the little sailors onboard! Instead, each member of your party will be given a Key to the World Card when you arrive at your stateroom after boarding! They will be located in a small envelope at your stateroom door, and let me tell you, opening that envelope feels like opening your invitation to your vacation! It really is your Key to the World of your Disney Cruise as you'll use it as your room key, use it to make shipboard charges, and you'll also need to take it with you when you disembark at any of the amazing
Ports of Call, and more!
Oh, and I almost forgot: if this is your first time cruising with Disney Cruise Line, a lanyard with a pouch is a really handy way to keep your Key to the World Card out of your pockets and somewhere accessible! You can pick one up aboard at Mickey's Mainsail on Deck 5, just off the Grand Hall, but on your NEXT sailing, you'll be part of the
Castaway Club, and receive a lanyard upon boarding! All the more reason to book that second one soon, haha!
I hope that helps you save at least that tiny bit of space in your luggage as you finish packing for your vacation this August, Michelle! Thank you so much for your question, and if any others surface between now and your sail date, please sail my way again here at planDisney!
Happy planning, and happy sailing!
Andrew
