We have Magic Bands from a trip in March, 2014. We are going again In October, 2015. Do we need new bands or while they still be functioning? How long is the battery life? Is there any way to test to see if we need new bands?

Hi, Diane! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Each MagicBand has an internal battery, with a life expectancy of approximately two years. Your MagicBands from 2014 should still be good to go! If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you will be given new MagicBands for each member of your party. You may use both sets of bands during your October 2015 visit. I now have several sets, and I like to have different colors to choose from each day and try to match them to what I am wearing.

Wishing you and your family a magical vacation, Diane!

Meet the Panelist: Rachel, Wisconsin

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
