I have magic bands from a 2014 trip. We are going back in 2017, will I be able to use the same magic bands, or will i have to purchase new ones? We stay off site so Disney won't be sending us new ones.

    Hi, Janine!

Any MagicBand you have, as long as it is linked to you My Disney Experience account and it is listed as ACTIVE, can be used for your upcoming trip. Be sure to have all your tickets and FastPass+ reservations linked to your account.

The only "glitch" you might encounter is the battery life of the MagicBand.  Some say the battery life is 2-3 years, while others claim much longer.  I have MagicBands that are several years old that I have no problem with.

As a back-up, bring along your park tickets that you will be purchasing.  If for some reason your MagicBands do not work due to battery life, your linked park tickets will serve the same purpose (just not as convenient!)

Because MagicBands are just a few years old, we are still all testing out this technology to see how long we keep re-using them.  Although I have a collection of colors from multiple visits, I keep going back to my favorite old pink one that is "broken in" and my favorite!  It's probably 3 years old and going strong!

And finally, put your MagicBands in a safe spot so you can remember where to find them when it is time to plan your magical vacation!
