Hi Larry! Welcome to planDisney.
You'll be glad to know that you are welcome to
reuse any MagicBands you have linked to your profile for your upcoming trip this fall, and you won't even need to worry about reprogramming them. As long as your MagicBands are listed as active in your
My Disney Experience account (you can check the status of your MagicBands in your account under "My MagicBands & Cards"), you are good to go! They will work seamlessly with any new reservations and tickets you have linked to your account, just like...magic! You'll be able to use your MagicBands to access your theme park admission, redeem any
Lightning Lane experiences you have reserved with
Disney Genie+ service, link
Disney PhotoPass photos to your account, and, if staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, unlock the door to your room and
charge purchases to your room folio.
The battery life of a MagicBand is estimated to be about 2 years. Older bands may not be able to "automagically" connect your on-ride Disney PhotoPass photos to your account, but should still work at any touchpoints, such as theme park entrance tapstyles and payment terminals. If you find that your photos aren't linking to your account, you can create a
Disney MagicMobile pass via the
My Disney Experience mobile app, save it to your digital wallet, and enable Bluetooth on your device. On my recent trip, I also noticed signs posted in some queues with a code to scan to walk you through adjusting the settings on your mobile device so your photos will automatically link to your My Disney Experience account.
I hope that helps! Larry, if you have any additional questions, please feel free to stop by planDisney again anytime. We'll be happy to answer!
Anne Marie
