Hi, Debbie! Thanks so much for popping in to see us again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Let's get planning your next trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!
Debbie, I'm just going to speak from my own personal experience as someone who has amassed quite a collection of
MagicBands over the years. I've worn them all around the Theme Parks and Resort hotels, in the pools, on attractions, in the rain, in the brutal heat of summer, and even on the occasional cold winter day here in Florida. I even wear my MagicBand on the same wrist as I wear my watch, and in all the years I've been sporting them, I've never had one fall off. Likewise, my 6'2" husband and our 9-year-old son have never lost a MagicBand, either. In my family's experience, the MagicBands stay securely on our wrists through pretty much all conditions, so I don't think it's necessary to buy an additional gadget (unless you like the look!).
If something quirky happens and you do
lose a MagicBand, hakuna matata, Debbie. No worries! First, your MagicBand doesn't store any personal information, so anyone who found it would get no use from it. Disney does suggest you deactivate your band in your
My Disney Experience account if it's lost, and that they may replace it under certain conditions if lost at Walt Disney World.
Also, if you have a young child that you're worried might take off the band, Disney has these fun
MagicKeepers that house the center icon part of a MagicBand that you can then clip to a bag or belt.
I hope this helps set your mind at ease, Debbie. Have fun planning, and please come see us again real soon!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
