Are Magic Bands required for a stay at Vero Beach? We did online check-in and now am confused by the skip the front desk instructions. Last time we got card keys...

Hey there, hi there, Peggy Anne! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with such a great question. I love chatting Disney with my pals, pal!

Before you know it, you'll be arriving at Disney's Vero Beach Resort, ready to begin your next magical, relaxing adventure. How exciting! Vero Beach Resort is one of my very favorite Disney Vacation Club Resorts, and with the gorgeous beach, oh-so-fun pool, fantastic dining options and a seemingly endless list of Resort activities, you can relax as much or as little as you want. It's the beach ... but make it DISNEY! Let's tie up your loose planning ends so you can sit back, relax and start your countdown to this pixie-dusted paradise.

You are absolutely right, Peggy Anne. When I was at Disney's Vero Beach Resort this summer, the use of MagicBands had not been officially rolled out at the Resort yet, and we were given room key cards when we checked in at the front desk. However, I am happy to report that Online Check-In and the use of MagicBands have officially arrived at Disney's Vero Beach Resort! Yippee!

While MagicBands can now be used for room entry and entry to the pool and beach areas at the Resort, they certainly are not required. If you'd prefer a room key card, just stop by the front desk when you arrive. The Cast Members here are absolutely incredible, and they will be more than happy to help!

Peggy Anne, if you are unsure if you'd like to purchase a new MagicBand before your vacation, I definitely recommend that you pack an active MagicBand from a past Walt Disney World Resort vacation with you if you have one. When I was at Vero Beach Resort, I always found myself having to search for my room key card deep at the bottom of my beach bag and wishing that I had my MagicBand on my wrist for easy access to my room, the pool and the beach. It is just oh-so-convenient! If you'd like to purchase a new one while you are there, a friendly Cast Member at the Resort informed me that they are selling them at Island Grove Packing Company (the gift shop)!

I hope this was helpful, Peggy Anne, and I hope you have the most magical and memorable time on your upcoming vacation! Please stop by any time with any questions you may have along the way. You've got a friend in me!

    Blue skies and sunshine,

    Mandy
