I have 2 magic bands we purchased during our last trip to Disney (2017). We are about to travel to Disney again. I tried to link the MB in the app and it says "it has already benn claimed (by me in the past, probably lol). How can I get it to link?

    Hi there, Felipe!

Welcome to planDisney. We're delighted you've dropped by with a wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! I'm so excited to hear you'll be heading to The Most Magical Place on Earth so soon. I'm here to help you prepare for an unforgettable getaway!

Felipe, it sounds like you're experiencing some Disney band-linking troubles. Not to worry! The batteries in Disney bands typically last for 2-3 years, but I always recommend bringing older bands because some last much longer. It seems as though you're receiving this error message because your band has previously been linked to a profile in My Disney Experience. Unfortunately, once a Disney band has been assigned to a Guest, it cannot be reassigned or transferred to another person. However, if you're certain the band has only been used by you in the past, or it's possible that you have two profiles in My Disney Experience, I recommend phoning the friendly Cast Members at the Walt Disney World Resort, or stopping by a Guest Relations location once you arrive on-site. They may be able to help you "merge" duplicate accounts so that you can use all of your previously-used Disney bands!

If this is unsuccessful, you have other options available to you, Felipe. You could purchase a new Disney band once you arrive on-site. You'll find these available for sale at many shops throughout the Walt Disney World Resort! Alternatively, you could request a Key to the World card from any Guest Relations location or theme park ticket window. This physical card will enable you to enter to the theme parks, unlock the door to your Disney Resort hotel room, and more!

Felipe, I hope you've found these recommendations helpful and I wish you a super special trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Once you arrive on-site, be sure to keep an eye on the banner at the top of the Walt Disney World Resort website for the most up-to-date information about Hurricane Milton, as operational changes were recently announced. If you have any additional questions before or during your vacation, you can always revisit us right here at planDisney. We're all ears!

    See ya real soon,
