If we have magic bands from a previous trip, can we use those instead of buying new ones?

    Hi Vanessa! Welcome to planDisney.

Isn't it so much fun to start planning your next visit to Walt Disney World Resort? I hope you make it back to experience The World's Most Magical Celebration. Throughout all four theme parks, you can find the golden Disney Fab 50 Character Collection sculptures. They make the perfect selfie background to share on social media. Look for Abu on the Adventureland sign in Magic Kingdom Park.

MagicBands are my personal favorite Disney accessory. I will literally sit with my collection before my trips to match them with all my favorite character-inspired apparel. You can absolutely use any active MagicBand from a previous trip that is still in working order. I understand it is estimated the life expectancy is about five years on MagicBands, but my bands have personally lasted longer. To check the status of your bands, open the My Disney Experience Mobile App, click on the three horizontal lines in the bottom right-hand corner, scroll down to "My Profile," and tap on "MagicBands & Cards." Select "Your MagicBands & Cards" which will generate a list of all your MagicBands and ticket cards. You will see to the right if your options are active or inactive. Select your choices to "active" and you are ready to use your current bands.

Did you know, you can create a Disney MagicMobile Digital Pass which eliminates the need for a physical ticket card or the use of a MagicBand? To create in the app, tap on "Disney MagicMobile," select the "+" sign in the top right-hand corner, and choose the guest name. Follow the prompts and once completed, I suggest you add your new digital pass to your Apple Wallet, Apple Watch, or digital wallet. If using an Apple product, I always suggest setting your pass to "Express Mode." This way you will not have to unlock your device to utilize your pass at the gate or attractions.

Finally, be on the lookout for the all-new interactive MagicBand+ on sale now! This new generation of MagicBand will interact with the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection, and nighttime shows, and lead you on a bounty hunt on planet Batuu at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

    Keeping it Magical,
    Cindy
