Kara, your MagicBand is yours for life. I actually have
MagicBands that are several years old that I still bring on our vacations!
I would guess that the reason that you are having trouble linking your MagicBand is that it is already linked to your account. You see, if you purchased a MagicBand as a park of a resort reservation, even if that reservation was canceled, it came already assigned to you.
To check and make sure that your MagicBand is active, simply go into your
My Disney Experience account. Hover over the "My Disney Experience" icon on the top right of your screen and click "MagicBands & Cards." On this page you should see your MagicBands. As long as they say "Active" you are good to go!
