Our family has a sizable collection of MagicBands of various vintages from our trips to
Walt Disney World Resort over the years. With the introduction of
Disney MagicMobile Service a few years ago, we've actually gotten away from using these, since it's so easy to use our phones to scan into the parks and attraction queues!
Deborah, unfortunately, older MagicBand technology does not work on DCL to unlock stateroom doors. Some
MagicBand+ wristbands purchased in the theme parks will work on select ships and itineraries.
Guests sailing on DCL can also purchase a
DisneyBand+, which you can tap to exit and board the ship, access your stateroom, and make onboard purchases. These come in several fun designs and make for a great souvenir! I have a DisneyBand+ from my most recent Disney cruise, and it added some extra pixie dust to the trip with special light and vibrating features. On the
Disney Treasure and
Disney Destiny, DisneyBand+ may also be used to take part in
The Haunted Mansion Happy Hunt that takes you all around the ship to find some pesky ghosts!
