Hi. We have a magic bands from our lat trip three years ago. I wanted to know if we can use it for our upcoming trip to Disney world. And can I buy megic bands there at the resort once I arrive? And how long is it take to get it? Thank you.

Hiya Mahammedhanif and welcome to planDisney!

We love our MagicBands at my house! Pulling them out of my backpack on the plane and passing them out during our descent is the signal that our vacation has officially begun.  We have a growing collection of MagicBands to be reused for as long as they live.

This particular magic can get a bit tricky as the battery tends to last about 2 years. But like most things in life you never really know what will happen until you try! You can definitely try to use them on your May trip and see what happens. If, like our girl Cinderella, the spell has worn off, don't fret. you can use your My Disney Experience app to open the door to your room at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel, enter the Disney Parks, etc.

If you'd like to buy new MagicBands you still have time to purchase some and have them shipped to your home. The recommended time is no less than 11 days prior to your trip. What I would personally suggest is to make a fun memory out of purchasing them when you arrive! Visit one of my favorite shops in Disney Springs, World of Disney. They usually have an excellent selection of MagicBands. I'm advising you to hang on to your wallet because not only are there MagicBands, you can find apparel, toys, houseware, and so much more! This shopaholic is always down for more merchandise.

Mahammedhanif, I'm wishing you safe travels and much pixie dust on your upcoming trip. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back for another chat!

    Happy planning!
