Hiya, Michael! Welcome to planDisney. I'm so happy to see a fellow East Coaster stopping by the Happiest Place on Earth! While there is so much that will be familiar to you from time spent at the Walt Disney World Resort, there will also be so much new magic to explore at the Disneyland Resort. What I love most is the nostalgia tucked into every corner. It's easy to stroll through the park and imagine Walt himself walking those same streets, and you'll just love the experience of going on some of the unique, opening day attractions like
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and the
Storybook Land Canal Boats!
I too LOVE the MagicBand experience at the Walt Disney World Resort! The hands-free ease and access to your tickets, hotel room, credit card, and more are just unparalleled! Plus, I love picking out a new one for each trip. I am taking my kids next month and we each spent a good, long time choosing the perfect MagicBand - I went with Disney snack icons for mine! While it has been announced that MagicBand+ is coming
THIS YEAR to the Disneyland Resort, we are still waiting for word on when we can expect this technological marvel! For the time being, benefits from MagicBands from Walt Disney World do not transfer over. News always breaks first on the
Disney Parks Blog and the
Disneyland Instagram account, so I would give those both a follow!
Currently, and likely for your trip in April, the Disneyland Mobile App is where you will find the latest technological enhancements for your trip. The
Disney Genie Service within the app allows you to tap into Genie's cosmic powers to help you plan your perfect Disney day. He will even make LIVE suggestions as you move through parks! Add
Genie+ and use the app to book Lightning Lanes to make your day even more magical ... and seamless. You can also
make dining reservations, add your name to same-day
Mobile Dine Walk-Up Lists, and order meals and snacks through
Mobile Order. You can even use the new "Shop In Store" feature to purchase merchandise in retail locations directly through the app!
Michael, what I love about the Disneyland Resort is that it gives you an appreciation for the past, a whole lot of magic in the present, and a glimpse of the future. If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at
planDisney!
The magic awaits!
