Welcome to planDisney, Karla.Like many Guests, you've noticed that there are plenty of MagicBands that are currently unavailable. “Curiouser and curiouser!” (in the words of Alice). What gives? Well, Disney is currently in the process of phasing out the old model of MagicBands to make way for the new and improved MagicBand+. These new wristbands will have the same basic capabilities as the current MagicBand, such as the ability to:- Unlock your Disney Resort hotel room door.- Enter both Theme and Water Parks (with valid admission, of course).- Connect any Disney PhotoPass images to your account.- Charge food and souvenir purchases to your Disney Resort hotel room (this is only available during your hotel stay)However, MagicBand+ will have some extra "ka-chow!" For example, MagicBand+ will include color-changing lights and even haptic vibrations that allow Guests to "feel the magic." Not only that, but MagicBand+ will bring gesture recognition capabilities that enable certain movements to create magical experiences. I'm very excited! We don't yet know the exact date when MagicBand+ will be released. However, I anticipate hearing an announcement in the near future. Keep checking Disney Parks Blog for any exciting news.Until then, you're welcome to purchase any MagicBands that are available, Karla. If you can't find what you're looking for, you can purchase your MagicBand when you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort. They are available for purchase at the Theme Parks, at your Disney Resort, or at Disney Springs.I hope that's helpful, Karla. Thanks for stopping by planDisney.Mike
