Hi Donna!
Thanks for sailing back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It sounds like you are a lover of vacationing at Walt Disney World Resort! I've always loved visiting Mickey at Walt Disney World, but as soon as I was introduced to Disney Cruises, seeing Mickey aboard the
Disney Cruise Line Fleet is my favorite way to visit him!
This is a great question! At this time, Disney Cruise Line does not use
MagicBands like you would find at Walt Disney World Resort. Instead, Guests receive "Key to the World" cards which act as their onboard charge card, stateroom key and identification around the ship. The best place to store your "Key to the World" card is in your Castaway Club Lanyard that you receive while checking in at the Cruise Terminal; however, you won't receive a lanyard until your second Disney Cruise. If this will be your inaugural voyage, don't worry! You can find lanyards perfect for storing your "Key to the World" card for purchase in the shops onboard!
Smaller cruisers ages 3 - 12 enjoying the Youth Clubs,
Disney's Oceaneer Club and
Disney's Oceaneer Lab, will receive a Disney Cruise Line Youth Activities wristband that looks very similar to a MagicBand. This band will grant them access to both clubs.
Donna, if you have any more questions while you prepare for your adventure of a lifetime, please come back and visit us again! We are here to help you in any way during the planning process!
