Hey Luann, welcome to planDisney!
Your Walt Disney World vacation is almost here! My kids know a Walt Disney World vacation is coming soon when they see their MagicBands charging. I always charge them a few days before we leave so I have time to
check the My Disney Experience app for any MagicBand+ updates.
You are correct that the
flashing green light indicates a high battery on your MagicBand+! Yellow flashing lights would mean low battery, and red flashing light indicates no battery. I think the easiest way to check your MagicBand+ battery level is by briefly pressing the button on the back of the band. The face of the MagicBand+ will light up with the color corresponding to the current battery status.
When you
double tap your MagicBand+, your MagicBand+ will display the colors associated with your “Light Up Theme.” This is a setting in the “MagicBands and More” section of your My Disney Experience app. Some MagicBand+ designs come with special themes. For example, my son’s Grogu MagicBand+ has a “Grogu & Frogs” theme that is mostly green, but you can customize your MagicBand+ to feature the colors of your choosing.
Take a peek at your
MagicBand+ throughout the theme parks, Luann. Your MagicBand+ may light up and vibrate with certain attractions. My favorite detail is the red flashing lights and vibrations, reminiscent of a heartbeat, in the queue for
Haunted Mansion. In my opinion, it adds an extra “aura of foreboding,” if you know what I mean.
I hope this helped, Luann! Enjoy your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation! Please visit us again at
