We’re so happy to hear that you’ll be visiting Walt Disney World again at the end of this month! I highly recommend that you bring some waterproof shoes and umbrellas with you as we have rain almost every afternoon in the summers! You’ll want to be prepared for those showers so they do not slow down your vacation time.
I’m happy to let you know that your MagicBands from 2017 should work as long as the internal battery is still functional. I have a MagicBand from 2016 that still works when I want to use it — so you may also have good luck with your MagicBand from 2017. Please note, though, that all MagicBand batteries are unique and can wear down differently, so there is no guarantee that your MagicBand will work. The only way for you to check to see if it works is to make sure it is active on your
My Disney Experience Account (which you’ve already done) and then attempt to use it to scan into a theme park, to make a purchase, or to access your Disney Resort hotel room.
As a backup, please activate
Disney MagicMobile Service on your smartphone. Linking your ticket to your phone is a great way to ensure that you can enter the theme parks without a hitch. You can also purchase a
MagicBand+ while visiting Disney World at almost any gift shop around property to replace your old one if it does not work.
