Hiya, Tara. Welcome to
planDisney. I’m so sorry to hear about your struggles with your
MagicBand+. When the technology works properly, it is magical, and then there are other times. Let’s see what we can sort out.
I hate to say it, but you
can not transfer a MagicBand+ to another guest once it’s been linked to an account. It’s a done deal. There is an
App and MagicBand+ phone line you can call to see if the friendly cast members can help you, but no guarantees. Perhaps if it hasn’t been used, they can see that you didn’t do this intentionally and may be able to disconnect it from your son's account.
I realize this may not be the answer you were looking for, but maybe your son could be the proud new owner of two MagicBands, and you can
purchase another for yourself. Another option is to utilize
MagicMobile. This service gives you access to many of the same features as your MagicBand on your own cell phone, like scanning tickets or passes into the parks, linking your
PhotoPass images, making food and merchandise purchases, and even scanning in to
Lightning Lanes. You could deactivate the one you intended to use and simply wear it for the style while utilizing MagicMobile.
Tara, don’t let it get you down! You’re still headed to the most magical place on earth! You’ll be visiting during one of the most beautiful festivals, the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Be sure to check out the adventures of my planDisney pals
Michelle and
LeAndra, who just got to explore the Flower & Garden Festival to see all it has to offer.
I truly hope you can work things out with the MagicBands and go on to make the most magical memories on your trip. If you have any other planning questions, don’t hesitate to ask at
planDisney.
I hope you have a magical day.
Corey
