Welcome to planDisney, Tye! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today. Your
MagicBand is going to be your favorite accessory on your upcoming trip this spring, and I'm happy to help you make sure it's linked to your
My Disney Experience account. Let's jump in!
Good news: if a MagicBand has been linked to your My Disney Experience in the past, it stays linked indefinitely. There's no need to "re-link" it for a new trip! Any band that appears in My Disney Experience under "MagicBands & Cards" can be used on your upcoming March visit right away without having to do anything extra. That "cannot link because it has already been linked somewhere else" typically just means that the band is already linked to your profile.
To double-check that your MagicBand is linked, open up My Disney Experience and check MagicBands & Cards. If you see the band listed under your name, make sure it's set to active, and you're all done. Classic MagicBands (also known as MagicBand 2) have batteries that last a really long time, so you may still be able to use them to tap into the parks with your ticket, access
Lightning Lanes, and charge purchases to your
Disney Resort Hotel room, even if they're a few years old. MagicBand+ needs to be charged for the interactive lights and vibrations, but it will tap for entry even if the battery is low. As a backup, I recommend adding
Disney MagicMobile to your digital wallet so your phone or smartwatch will get you through the tapstiles as well.
I hope this answers your question, Tye, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
