    Will my 2015 magic band still work I tried linking it today, but it said it was invalid? Any tips?

    Hey there, Madeleine, and welcome to planDisney! You'll be arriving at the Most Magical Place on Earth in just a few short days, and you must be so excited! I'm so glad you've come to planDisney with this great question. 

    It sounds like you're having some issues with your MagicBand, and I'm happy to help work through that with you. Let me start by saying that the MagicBand you have is equipped with a battery that was designed to last a couple of years. It might, however, still work when you arrive, so it's worth trying! The newer MagicBand+ comes with a charger so that you don't have to worry about your battery expiring.

    If you linked your MagicBand to your account for your previous Walt Disney World Resort vacation, it might still be linked to you. Once a MagicBand is linked to a Guest, it cannot be re-linked to another Guest. But, if it has been deactivated, you can easily reactivate it. To view your MagicBands, open up the My Disney Experience Mobile App. Press the button in the bottom right corner and then scroll down to MagicBands & Cards within the Account section. Click on your name to see each type of MagicBand that has been assigned to you. If you see your current MagicBand, be sure it's active, and you're good to go!

    This might seem redundant, but be sure you're entering the correct number from your MagicBand - it's the one that is etched on the back. If you're still having trouble, I recommend reaching out to a helpful Cast Member who might be able to walk through more of the technical details with you.

    If you'd like to try to bring the MagicBand with you, you can still have a backup! Disney MagicMobile Service lets you download your Theme Park Tickets to the wallet of your smartphone. This complimentary feature is super helpful and ensures you've never without a way to access the magic. If you find a new MagicBand+ during your vacation, a Cast Member will be happy to help you set it up!
