I have a magic band from 2019, will that still work? I really don't remember much about it.

Well hello there, Jessica. Thanks for reaching out about one of my absolute favorite topics: MagicBands.

MagicBands usually work for about 2-3 years after purchasing them. After that, they may lose some or all of their ability to perform the standard actions of a MagicBand. As such, I would recommend either purchasing new ones when you arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort or bringing your old ones to see if they'll work, but having a backup method for entering the theme parks.

As a backup, you can use the very convenient Disney MagicMobile Service or you can ask for a card (sometimes referred to as a "Key to the World Card") at a Guest Relations location outside of the theme parks or at the Disney Ticket Center in Disney Springs. You can use both to enter the theme parks, charge items back to your Disney Resorts Collection Hotel room, and redeem Lightning Lanes or Individual Lightning Lanes that have been purchased.

If you decide to purchase a new MagicBand, you may want to consider a MagicBand+. This new, updated model not only performs the standard MagicBand functions, but when charged, it will interact with certain attractions, nighttime spectaculars, and some of the statues found around the resort. It really is such a fun little accessory. If you go this route, just ensure you update it before your first use and charge it each night before you go to the theme parks!

Jessica, if you have any other questions, I'm more than happy to find the answers for you.

Let your heart guide the way and all your dreams will follow,
    Matt
