Katarina from OR Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Will my magic band 2 work in Disneyland or do I need to purchase a Disneyland plus bracelet. Also we are going for 9 days total in the park and have 5 days with our reservation what is the best way to add on the extra days to the park?

Hey there, Katarina! Welcome to planDisney. The countdown has begun for your trip to Disneyland Resort next month!

If you want to use a MagicBand at Disneyland Resort you will need to make sure your bands are MagicBand+. Unfortunately, previous versions like MagicBand 2 are not compatible at Disneyland Resort. You can purchase these ahead of your trip on ShopDisney or purchase them in many locations throughout the parks and resort once you arrive.

If you are wanting more days in the park than your 5-day theme park ticket, you will need to purchase another set of tickets for the respective amount of days you want to add to your visit. A 5-day ticket is the max amount of days at Disneyland Resort. This means you can just head to the Disneyland website or Disneyland app to purchase tickets and select your dates and parks. Since you will be staying for quite a few days, I also suggest taking a day or two to enjoy the Disneyland Resort hotels and Downtown Disney District.

The holiday decor and overlays will be up for you to enjoy through January 8, 2023. I recommend a day in Disney California Adventure Park to enjoy Disney Festival of Holidays. There you can grab a Sip & Savor Pass to enjoy a bunch of different holiday treats and bites. I love snacking my way through the festival all day instead of having a full meal.

Katarina, thanks so much for stopping by. If you have any other questions before your trip, come back and see us again!

Meet the Panelist: Carrie, California

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
