I have a magic band with unused days and was told that it doesn't expire just need to provide the email associated with the band to get the days and book the new trip. I need to find out if this is accurate and if there are days left.

Hi Amanda! Thanks for visiting planDisney.

Bands are not an admission ticket or a pass to the parks. Instead, bands give you hands-free access while you're in the parks. At Disneyland Resort, you can scan into the parks and Lightning Lane Entrances with Genie+, using your band, for example, instead of using your mobile device. They also enhance some Attractions with immersive elements like lights and vibrations. Plus, at Walt Disney World Resort, bands can be used to pay for dining and merchandise at participating locations and unlock your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room.

If you intend on using a band at Walt Disney World Resort, you'll need to purchase a new one, as bands aren't transferrable from one Guest to another. Only MagicBand+ is operational at Disneyland Resort, and while you can link a new Guest to a MagicBand+ for use at Disneyland Resort, you can't use a ticket or a pass that has been partially used by another Guest. When a Guest activates a Magic Key or an admission ticket at first use, a Cast Member takes a picture of the Guest. That picture identifies the Magic Key or ticket with that Guest for all future use. Partially used tickets and activated passes are associated with the original Guest and can't be transferred according to the terms of purchase.

If there is a wholly unused valid admission ticket someone would like to gift you, however, they can do so. And what a lovely gift! With a standard admission ticket, they can forward you the ticket confirmation e-mail or screenshot and share the ticket ID number in their Disneyland mobile app, so you can link the ID number to your account. To link in the app, tap the three-bar menu at the bottom right and select the "My Tickets & Passes" tile. Tap the "+" or "Link Tickets & Passes" to link the ticket. Select "Open Camera" to scan the barcode or QR code or select "Type ID" to manually enter the ticket ID number. It's that easy!

Disneyland Resort tickets retain their original value if they're wholly unused, but they do have an expiration date. If they're past their expiration, you can apply the original value of the ticket towards the purchase of a new ticket. You simply have to pay the difference. Prices and terms are subject to change. Call the Tickets phone line for assistance with an expired but unused ticket. Have the ticket ID number and method of payment handy. Also, it's important to know that once a multi-day ticket has been partially used, it expires within 13 days of first use and the ticket becomes invalid. It can't be used any longer.

I hope you get to visit the parks soon!
