Disney band during your stay.
Known as MagicBands by the stateside Cast Members and Guests, your Disney band from four years ago is the key to unlocking the fun on your upcoming trip. It can open your
resort room door, act as your theme park admission, link
Disney PhotoPass images to your My Disney Experience account, and charge purchases to your resort bill. As long as it's marked "Active" you probably don't need to do anything else for it to function properly as soon as you arrive.
My family and I always reuse bands from previous stays, and we usually don't need to stop by the front desk. Occasionally, there's a glitch, and our bands don't work to open our room door. If that happens, we will head to the lobby, and a front desk Cast Member with an iPad can help.
Having a backup plan is a good idea if your room is far from the lobby and you find yourself with a malfunctioning Disney band. Did you know you can also use your
mobile device to unlock your door? On the My Disney Experience mobile app, simply tap "My Resort" on the opening screen, then scroll down. Below your room number, you'll see an option to "Unlock Door." Follow the prompts, and your door will magically open for you!
