my magic band is saying it is already claimed but i have used it multiple times before

Hiya, Shayleeh! Welcome to planDisney, where Guests are friends and friends always help each other find the answers they need for their Disneyland Resort adventures. Thank you so much for your great MagicBand+ question.

I absolutely love the convenience of using a MagicBand+ at Disneyland. Scanning into the parks, redeeming Lightning Lanes, and tapping for PhotoPass pictures keeps everything easy and hands free, so you can jump right into the next magical moment. Let’s get to your answer so you can get on your way to the fun!

From what you described, it sounds like your MagicBand+ has already been registered to your account, which means you will not need to claim it again. Here is how you can double check. First, make sure you have the Disneyland Mobile app downloaded and that you are signed in with your Disney Account. Then start by confirming that your tickets or Magic Key are added to your account. Tap the menu button, which is the three little lines in the lower right corner. Choose My Tickets and Passes. If you do not see your tickets there, tap the blue plus sign on the upper right. Select Link Tickets and Passes where you can then scan the barcode or manually type in the ticket ID.

Once your ticket shows in the app, tap the menu button again, scroll to the Account section, and choose MagicBand+. There you will see any MagicBand+ bracelets already linked to your account. Select the band you want to use, then choose the ticket you have added. That will connect the two and get everything ready for your visit.

One important thing to remember is that once a MagicBand+ has been activated and linked to a Disneyland account, it cannot be transferred to another Guest. It stays assigned to the original user.

If you are headed to Disneyland Resort before August 9, 2026, make sure you keep a watch out for special Disneyland 70th Celebration MagicBand+ interactions as you walk through the parks and Downtown Disney District!

Shayleeh, I hope this helps you get your MagicBand+ ready to go. You are in for such a magical time, and I hope your visit is filled with moments that make you smile for years to come. Come back any time you have more questions as you plan.

Sending pixie dust and magical memories your way!
