    If I use my Magic Band to make purchases at the park, the purchases get charged to my hotel. If I pay the hotel with my Disney Credit Card, do I still get 10% off the purchases that would have qualified for 10% off?

    Hello and welcome to planDisney Angela. Thanks for stopping by with your question about discounts. 

    Saving while on a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort is always on my mind. After all those savings usually just end up as additional Mickey-shaped snacks. Being a Disney Visa Card Holder has some pretty cool benefits. One of the best is the 10% off select merchandise purchases at select locations. Add your Disney Visa card to your My Disney Experience App to take advantage of your card member savings while using mobile checkout. You may need to present the card for the discounts so I always recommend bringing it if you can. If you use the card to pay off the charges to your room you may not receive those discounts as they are applied during the transaction at the location. I would check with your banking institution to be certain.

    There are other great opportunities inside of the parks to use your Disney Visa Card benefits. For example, while visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios there are card member-exclusive photo opportunities with a favorite Star Wars character. In the Animation Courtyard, you can find Darth Vader awaiting your presence. The cool thing about this is not only is it an exclusive but you also get a free download of the photo to immortalize your brush with this Sith Master and the Dark Side.
