Hello there, Nancy!
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for bringing us an excellent
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. I'm so excited to hear you'll be vacationing at The Most Magical Place on Earth so soon! As you finalize your packing list and wrap up those last-minute vacation plans, I'd be happy to help you prepare for a magical and memorable trip.
Nancy, I'm happy to share that your old MagicBand can most likely
be reused during your upcoming visit. However, depending on the age of your current band, some functionality may not work as well as before. For example, if your MagicBand is more than a few years old, its battery health may be poorer, limiting the band's capacity to link Disney PhotoPass attraction media. Personally, I've reused the same older MagicBands lots of times without issue, so I definitely encourage you to at least bring and try your old band. If you run into problems, or if a new
MagicBand+ catches your eye, you'll have lots of opportunities to purchase a new band once you arrive on property!
If you prefer, you could utilize
Disney MagicMobile service instead of (or in addition to) using a MagicBand. Just open the
My Disney Experience mobile app and navigate to "Set Up MagicMobile Entry." Then, tap the "+" icon, select your name from the list of eligible Guests, and click "Add to Digital Wallet." Guests can use their Disney MagicMobile passes similarly to MagicBand for activities like tapping into a theme park at the turnstiles, linking Disney PhotoPass photos, and checking in at Lightning Lane entrances throughout the theme parks! Additionally, Guests can use the functionality in the My Disney Experience mobile app to open the doors to their resort rooms.
Nancy, I hope you've found this information useful as you gear up for an enchanting escape to the Walt Disney World Resort. If you have any additional questions before or during your trip, you're always welcome to stop back by
planDisney anytime. We're here to help you make the most of your time at The Most Magical Place on Earth!
See ya real soon,
Lauren
