Hello Holly,
Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for bringing us such an important question about your rapidly approaching holiday to the magic and wonder of Walt Disney World Resort.
Ahead of my own jolly holiday to the most magical place on earth, I too have just become the proud owner of my very own
MagicBand+. Therefore, I can completely relate to your need to ensure that your brand new MagicBand+ is totally tickety-boo ahead of your arrival at Walt Disney World Resort on September 27th.
Holly, it sure sounds as if you've already tried all the usual technical hacks in a bid to connect your MagicBand+ via Bluetooth to your
My Disney Experience Mobile App on your smart device.
Although I'm by no means a technical guru, I do wonder if it might be an idea to delete your My Disney Experience Mobile App from your smart device, and then reinstall it. Performing this radical action should ensure that your newly installed My Disney Experience Mobile App is the latest, most up-to-date version possible to enable it to connect to your new MagicBand+.
Other technical MagicBand+ and My Disney Experience Mobile App pointers that may help are -
- MagicBand+ should be able to pair with most smart devices, including Android and Apple devices.
- A Bluetooth connection is necessary to check and complete a software update, along with at least 60% of battery life!
- Ensure your Bluetooth is toggled on within the settings of your smart device
- Perform a full factory reset -
- Begin the reset of your MagicBand+ with a single press of the button (located on the back of the MagicBand+), quickly followed by a 2nd press which should be held for 15 seconds.
- After 3 haptic buzzes, your MagicBand+ should magically begin to glow with a full rainbow of colours; this is the indication that your MagicBand+ is restarting!
- The lights on your MagicBand+ will turn off, and then flash green once the full factory reset has been completed.
Hopefully, with some faith, trust, and pixie dust, you should now have managed to connect your MagicBand+ to your My Disney Experience Mobile App on your smart device.
If this is not the case, I would suggest speaking in person with a tech-savvy Cast Member who will be able to offer you the best possible assistance. Please go ahead and dial the UK freephone number for
Technical and Website Support contained within this
Walt Disney World Resort Phone Directory.I also thought you may find this past
Disney Parks Blog article, concerning MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World Resort to be a fun read ahead of your arrival on the 27th.
Holly, I sincerely hope I've been able to provide some guidance for you today. Now all that remains is for me to wish you an extra magical upcoming
September holiday making lasting memories at Walt Disney World Resort.Have a great Disney day ~
Jane
