I am so excited to hear that you have booked your own trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! You may be relieved to know that you are not alone in this dilemma. I just checked with a cast member about this question. If you have used that MagicBand or
MagicBand+ on a prior trip, you cannot transfer it to your new My Disney Experience account. If the MagicBand or MagicBand+ is unused, you can
contact a cast member in Website Support and they should be able to help you get it transferred to your
My Disney Experience account. Of course be sure to verify that they cannot transfer a used MagicBand or MagicBand+ when you call - magic lives on at the Walt Disney World Resort and I am never surprised when it happens.
Since you are planning your own trip, I hope you have planned some
advanced dining reservations. We have so many favorite restaurants and usually start our trip with a character meal! I also hope you have
theme park tickets and have determined which parks you will do on which days. And, if you have not experienced the
virtual queue process, be sure to take notes!
