I got a Magic Band + for my kid and I, and I see where i can link both to my account in the Disney World app, but he has his own cell phone. Can i link it to my account for things like tickets, payments, etc, but link to his phone/app as well?

    Hey howdy hey, Jonathon!

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for bringing us your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. I'm excited to hear that you've purchased MagicBand+ for your upcoming visit! These new bands are going to allow you to experience the magic in a whole new way. Not only will these bands allow you to enter the theme parks, tap in for Lightning Lane entry, and unlock your Disney Resort hotel room, but you'll enjoy an immersive experience during nighttime spectaculars and interact with your surroundings in the theme parks in a brand new way!

Jonathon, if your child is age 13 or older, he can register for his own My Disney Experience account and use the My Disney Experience mobile app on his cell phone. My recommendation is to have him set up his own account and link his MagicBand+ to this account. Then, you'll link your accounts via your Family & Friends Lists. To link your son, navigate to your Family & Friends List and scroll all the way to the bottom. Select "Add a Guest." Then, select "Import from a Walt Disney World Resort hotel reservation." Enter your Resort hotel confirmation number and last name on the reservation, and select "Locate Reservation." Then, you'll match your son's name on your reservation to your son's My Disney Experience account. This will link your accounts together and allow you to include one another in plans, like Lightning Lane entry selections and dining reservations! As long as your son is linked to your Resort hotel reservation, he will also be able to make purchases using his MagicBand+ to charge to your room. Jonathon, be sure that you've set up your MagicBand+ in My Disney Experience and use the charging cables provided to fully charge your bands before your trip. Also, don't forget to pack your charging cables! I recommend charging your MagicBand+ each night during your visit. Although the bands will still function as normal MagicBands when the batteries run out, you'll miss out on the added pixie dust!

I hope this information is helpful to you, Jonathon, and I encourage you to reach out to planDisney again if you have additional vacation planning questions - we're all ears! If you have specific follow-up questions about linking your MagicBand+ or My Disney Experience accounts, you can always reach out to me directly for further assistance and I'd be happy to help. I'm wishing you a most magical and memorable visit to Walt Disney World Resort with your child!

    See ya real soon,
