Will the magic band fit on my toddler's wrist? And are they water proof?

    Hi Kelly!

I'm happy to help you plan your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation with your little one. You are going to love using MagicBands during your trip because they make your visit to see Mickey so easy. It's so convenient when everyone in the family can access their admission tickets and FastPass+ reservations with just a tap of their wrist. Plus, MagicBands are waterproof, so you can wear them to the pool, the water parks or even while you are enjoying the water rides and splash pads at the theme parks!

MagicBands can accommodate an extremely wide variety of wrist sizes and I have found that they will fit very, very small Mouseketeers. When you receive your MagicBands, they will include a gray section on the outside of the MagicBand to allow it to fit larger wrists. You will want to remove this section from your little one's MagicBand and then you will be able to find a size to work for your toddler. My youngest wore his first MagicBand when he was about 18 months old and we found a size that worked perfectly for his itty bitty wrist and there was even room to make it smaller if we needed to! Keep in mind that once you remove the outer gray portion from a MagicBand, it cannot be added back. So for bigger kids and adults with smaller wrists that are close to needing the gray portion removed, I recommend that you try them on carefully before removing it.

Guests who are under 3 years old receive complimentary admission to Walt Disney World Resort, so MagicBands for these little ones are optional. If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, your little one will still receive a complimentary MagicBand for your trip, but he or she can choose when they would like to wear it. My little one loved wearing his MagicBand like all of the "big kids" in the family! If wearing a MagicBand doesn't work well for your little one, you can always wear it on your wrist or carry his or her MagicBand with you. You can also purchase a MagicKeeper for your little one, which will allow you to attach your little one's MagicBand icon to a lanyard, rather than wearing them on your wrist.

Let us know if we can help you again as you continue planning! T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
