Ahoy, Adrianna! I’m thrilled you sailed by planDisney with this question about one of my favorite accessories: a
MagicBand+. Honestly, it’s not really “one of” – it
is my favorite accessory! Snap it on my wrist, and I am transported into instant vacation mode.
MagicBand+ is perfect for all of your adventures at
Walt Disney World,
Disneyland and aboard a
Disney Cruise Line ship. The process for linking varies slightly by destination, but the same band can work at each to unlock the door to your home away from home, charge purchases to your account, and immerse you in the magic. If you already have a MagicBand+, be sure to add it to your packing list! If not, you can order them before your cruise or buy them on the ship.
When you check in at the port, the Cast Member can link your band to work on the cruise as a
DisneyBand+. You can then use the band to scan in when your boarding group is called and you start running on
Cruise Control.
One of my favorite features is that the band is waterproof. We put them on when we leave the stateroom in the morning, and they stay on until we charge them at night. We don't have to take them off to spend time in the
pool or make a splash on the water slides. It's a worry-free philosophy!
The DisneyBand+ lights up and buzzes along with many of the deck parties and shows. And if you happen to be on
Disney Treasure or
Destiny, you will want to have it on when you visit the
Haunted Mansion Parlor. The heartbeat before boarding a Doom Buggy at the Haunted Mansion has always had my heart skip a beat. I found another little thrill leaving this lounge on the ship that will make you want to hurry back!
