If I have a magic band do I have to carry a credit card with me in the parks? Or does it have that stored and enable me to purchase meals, snack, items with it?

    Hi Marianne,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I am happy to share with you about the abilities of your MagicBand!

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel, yes, you will be able to link a credit card to your MagicBand. Do be sure that you have a My Disney Experience account set up in order to do so. You can even link your credit card when you complete online resort check-in.

Having a credit card linked to your My Disney Experience account allows you to use your MagicBand for making purchases such as meals, snacks, and merchandise throughout Walt Disney World. This is such a convenience! I particularly appreciate it when I am heading to a pool or waterpark, since I often do not have pockets for a credit card in what I am wearing at these locations! I do most often still carry a credit card or some cash with me when I head out into theme parks just in case there is an issue; however, I have found now that almost all of the time, my MagicBand works perfectly. Please do note that this is only an option if you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Marianne! Have a great time planning your magical vacation, and please do let us know if you have any further questions.
