Do you have to use a magic band?

Hey Howdy Hey Regina and welcome to planDisney!

One of the best parts about a trip to Walt Disney World Resort is the full immersion and consideration of making your vacation as enjoyable as possible. Technology in the parks has been one of those big focuses and also something that received a major boost last year about MagicBands and access to the parks. Thank you so much for your question on MagicBands, let's review some options for you and get you ready for your trip in a few days!!

MagicBands were one of Disney's big additions to the vacation experience several years ago. From here, you would have your theme park tickets, room access and charging privileges right from your wrist. It was such a big change and made touring the parks so much easier. Well, technology being what it is and the prevalence of smart devices and the development of the My Disney Experience app took this to a new level last year.

Last year we were able to hear the new developments with the release of the Disney MagicMobile Service. With this, you no longer needed to have a MagicBand as all the information on that bad was now accessible through your My Disney Experience app by setting up a MagicMobile Pass. This option is super easy and free to do! Simply log onto your My Disney Experience app, tap on the three horizontal lines on the bottom right and select the Disney MagicMobile tile. Follow the prompts and Voila! You are all set!

Now, if you have an apple watch and phone, you have special access. With these devices, you can access all of your information from the MagicMobile Pass from your Apple wallet so your smartwatch works very similar to a MagicBand! So much accessibility from devices you may already own!

Best of luck on your final days of preparation and safe travels! If you have any further questions please feel free to reach out and let us know, we would be happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
